OPCWare create components for software developers and automation users to assemble interconnections between industrial devices and applications, productively. Unlike expensive proprietary software which requires third party support, and unlike custom applications which require time consuming internal support, OPCWare products offer rapid connectivity solutions in an off-the-shelf form that is vastly more cost effective for most applications. The company was founded in February 2002 by Neil Kingston, building on an existing business called Industrial Automation Solutions. From our offices in Cork, Ireland, we work with global clients, partners and suppliers, to deliver the most appropriate and significant industrial automation solutions, creating and building affinity relationships. Flagship Product
Our flagship product OPCWare Client Developer, is the market leading rapid development toolkit of ActiveX components for the development of OPC Client software, and for OPC-enabling existing applications. We have been selling this software product for four years.
PeopleOur founder Neil Kingston has 14 years of experience in engineering and software development and product management, with extensive exposure to industrial software applications. Neil holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechancial Engineering, and a Master's degree in Computer Simulation. He is a member of the ISA, the international professional body for Instumentation, Systems and Automation, and is also a member of the IEI, the Institution of Engineers of Ireland.
Our developers and engineers are experienced in producing advanced automation systems incorporating both hardware and software. We have leveraged that experience in producing our range of software product offerings. We also provide a range of high value professional services based around our ability to apply our products and related core skills to end user applications.
Development ProcessThe focus of our product and project history has been in the software development and manufacturing sectors, particularly the regulated/healthcare and process industries. We are experienced in the application of lifecycle methodologies such as Good Automated Manufacturing Practice (GAMP, ISPE), and ISO 9001:2000, to the development and production of software and automated systems. Our reputation for customer service is exemplary, and we pride ourselves on our ability to anticipate and understand our customer's requirements, and to deliver solutions that make a real difference to the business of our customers.
Development Tools
We have a strong track record in programming applications and components for MS Windows and the web, particularly using Visual Basic and Visual C++, OPC-enabled applications and components. We also use Visual Studio.NET (Visual Basic.NET, C#.NET, ASP.NET) and Delphi to produce reusable components as well as standalone and web applications to our customer's specifications. In addition, we can produce manual and automated test scripts, MSI-based software installation and setup packages, as well as HTML help, user's and technical manuals, and other documentation if required.
